Businesses wish for Vol winning season

Vol fans spare no expense during a winning football season.  That is one reason Knoxville businesses hope the men in orange and white keep earning victories.

"If it's an early game, and a win, everybody gets in a good mood.  Hey, if you're in a good mood, you may want to buy a car," said Lance Cunningham at Lance Cunningham Ford off I-640 in North Knoxville.

Cunningham said his dealership is also busy on Sundays after a Saturday win.

A winning season means increased revenue for most businesses in Knoxville.

How much of an increase?

Lance Cunningham Ford said revenue rises 15%.

The Flower Pot notices a 30% spike.  Orange roses are a hot item at the flower shop.

Rocky Top Books on the Cumberland Avenue Strip usually lands a 20% increase in sales.

According to the University of Tennessee Athletic Department, ticket sales remain steady after last Friday's big win.
