Following the acquisition of a new 22-acre property, Ijams Nature Center is expanding to 300 acres and further enhancing the South Loop on Knoxville's Urban Wilderness. The new property, which lies between Sevierville Pike and Ijams' Quarries, is a critically important wooded ridge top in South Knoxville.

The Knox Cash Mob is headed to South Knoxville once again, and this time the mob will visit Stanley’s Greenhouses and Plant Farm on Davenport Road from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27.

“Stanley’s is a great local business with deep roots in Knox County, and, like so many businesses in our community, they are being impacted by the current economy,” Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett said.  “I hope folks from all across the county will come out to South Knoxville to support this long-standing local business.”

S. Knox Home Depot Hosts Breast Cancer Awareness Ladies Night

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Home Depot is hosting a free Ladies Night Workshop at the SE Knoxville store located at 140 Green Road.

American Cancer Society team members will be available to talk to attendees about prevention, and questions and discuss important factors in keeping women healthy. 

Additionally, the Knoxville Fire Department will be out at the store to talk about Fire Safety & Fire Prevention (October is also Fire Safety Month!) and DIY enthusiasts can attend a workshop about preparing your lawn & plants For winter.
