County by county update of road conditions
News

Throughout East Tennessee, most counties are saying the main roads are clear but the secondary and back roads are slippery. Overall, the general consensus is still if you don't absolutely need to leave your home, you should just stay in.

Here's a county by county update of road conditions as of around 4:30 p.m.

Anderson- Back roads icy, main roads clear.

Bell- Main roads clear, back roads icy.

Campbell- Roads looking pretty clear, no accidents, but still use caution.

Claiborne- Main roads watching for refreezing. Back roads hazardous.

Cocke- Icy roads, use caution.

Fentress- Back roads icy. Main roads are in fairly good shape.

Grainger- Roads are icy. Use caution, especially on back roads.

Greene- Roads looking rough, especially out in the county. Urging everyone to stay home if possible.

Hamblen- Main roads pretty much clear. Be especially cautious on secondary roads.

Harlan- Roads mostly clear, but still slick in areas.

Jefferson- Roads still looking bad. White Pine worse than Jefferson City. Urging everyone not to go out if they don't have to.

Knox, TN- Main roads ok, secondary roads still tricky.  Concerned now with potential of falling trees and power poles.  There is a tree blocking the 8200 block of Andersonville Pike that has also taken down power lines.

Loudon- not that many issues

McCreary- more passable than this morning, still some tricky spots, especially on back roads.

McMinn- so far ok, especially on main roads.  Back roads have slick spots

Morgan- clearing a little, but don't want anyone to get a false sense of security.  Streets around town pretty clear, north end of the county still bad.  Asking people to stay home if possible.

Roane- slick in spots, especially back roads

Scott- main roads ok, back roads slick

Sevier- "horrible" The Parkway is pretty good, but pretty much anything else is bad

Union- main roads are improving, secondary roads still slick

Whitley- slick and hazardous.  I-75 still slick in spots
