(WBIR) Two men are facing criminal trespassing charges after one of them fell from a water tower in south Knoxville early Wednesday morning.

Michael Ellison, 28, of Knoxville called police after his friend Bryan Henderson, 27, of Knoxville fell from the water tower's suspended ladder at about 2:45 a.m.

Crews took Henderson to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for unknown injuries. Officers arrested Ellison for criminal trespassing and public intoxication. Ellison admitted to police that he had been drinking and took a Xanex, according to a Knoxville Police Department release. Police also cited Henderson for criminal trespassing.

Authorities said fencing around the water tower on 1044 Cherokee Trail is marked with many "no trespassing" signs, threatening penalties for violators.
