Man drank alcohol before jumping from 100-foot cliff & drowning

Knoxville police said the man, who drowned at a south Knoxville quarry on Sunday night, had been drinking with two friends before jumping from the cliff into the water.

According to a released from the Knoxville Police Department, friends said Robert Cosson, 50, jumped from a 100-foot cliff at Blount Avenue Quarry and never resurfaced.
The Knoxville Rescue Squad found Cosson's body in the area where the two friends said he landed in the water.
Officials have ruled Cosson's death as accidental.
Nearly a year ago, another man died after jumping from a cliff into the same quarry.
