WBIR is inviting our community to take part in a Knoxville-wide Olympic torch bearer relay in celebration of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and to raise money for our friends at the United Way of Greater Knoxville.

There's a lot to look forward to in Tennessee's final home game this weekend. The Vols are looking forward to getting back to dominating Vandy; we'll say goodbye to 28 Tennessee seniors who've been through so much in their college careers; the smokey gray uniforms will be back!

Austin-East to hold free summer dance camp for middle schoolers

 

Austin-East Performing Arts Magnet High School is offering a free dance camp this summer for middle-schoolers.

The free dance camp is available to rising 6th graders thru rising 9th graders during June 3rd-8th.

Camp will include classes in ballet, jazz, modern, west african and hip hop. Breakfast and Lunch are provided.

A final showcase will be on the last day of camp to highlight what has been learned through the week.

Don't Forget: Knox County splash pads open this weekend!

Knox County's splash pads will be opening tomorrow for local kids to have some fun in the sun!

The splash pads, which are automated water playgrounds for children, are located at three Knox County parks: Carl Cowan Park, New Harvest Park, and Powell Station Park.

They will open Saturday at 10 am and remain open until 8 pm, weather permitting, throughout the summer.
