Weather clears out Friday, but back by Sunday

The bad weather and snow that hit East Tennessee and Kentucky has moved out for the most part, with a high pressure system bringing plenty of sunshine. The temperatures will stay cool early today, but will rise throughout the day and into Saturday. Another cold front late Saturday into Sunday will bring more precipitation, either as rain or snow, much like what we saw Thursday night.

Round up of area road conditions

As East Tennessee and southern Kentucky woke up to a dusting of snow and a coat of ice on car windshields, area dispatchers shared with 10News reports of road conditions in their respective counties. A reminder, always use caution on the roads in cold conditions.

Deputy used taser on suspected DUI suspect after chase

According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office incident report, an officer was watching for speeders on Highland View Road on Sunday. Just after 4:30 pm, a Honda Civic drove by going 38 mph in the 30 mph zone. He stopped the driver, who "had an odor of an alcoholic beverage about his person and breath, red watery blood shot eyes and had slurred speech."
